Ashtanga Yoga is is a highly structured vinyasa-style practice. There are five Ashtanga asana series generically known as sun salutations. The student progresses by first mastering every pose of the first series before moving on to the second series.The first series begins with ten sun salutations (five of A and five of B) all linked in a vinyasa sequence with 5 breaths between each sun salutation. At Good Vibes Studios we practice mastering the first series; Sun Salutation A and Sun Salutation B. What makes this class different from the rest is you can expect the exact same series of poses every time you come to a class. This practice is heat building and heart pumping. The beginner is encouraged to always work within their own range of limits and abilities.
